Breeze soundless. Golf weather.

Cinemas bursting with blockbusters; movies missed.

Boxsets old and new, waiting to be binged; the sofa list grows endless, restless.

The bookcase bulges with the half-read and almost read; dust gathers. Pages yellow.

New games, old games begin to digitally rust; playing some at dusk with eyes half-shut.

Words fall from the page, the pen falters in its stride; the writing still comes but now pushed to the side.

All of these things time used to allow, but time grows shorter filled with fatherhood now.

These things on this list all still exist; but I promise you now they are hardly ever missed.

Because of all the worthwhile things I could do with my time, I’d rather spend it with you, family of mine.

You are the ones that make me wish time would never end. I don’t usually write poetry - if indeed you can class this as such. But whatever you call it, it’s a heartfelt reflection on life and a love letter of gratitude to my wife, my son and my second child (due in June). I think I’ve written before that being a father and a husband are the two roles that come before writer, this is just a snapshot of that.

The stories and chapters of FOUND have been slower to release here purely because they are slower to write! But they are still on their way. With a toddler and a second due on a few months, I’m sure you can imagine time is filled quite quickly. And sometimes, at the end of the day, I am absolutely shattered!

So thanks for subscribing and sticking around.
